Now I want a “CRUSH THE VOID!” T-shirt.

With a sledgehammer logo and an angry Richard face? XD

This seems like something that would work for him.

Also, does anyone know how to work with the Ruby scripting language or work with RPG maker?

Oh this logo is just perfect!
RPG Maker, eh? I actually made couple of silly games back when I was in highschool and had some serious projects during my university years but didn’t complete any of the serious ones, sadly! ^_^; My scripting knowledge is on the level of – I can edit scripts without completely breaking the game….usually!

I want to develop a game with it, but I’m still trying to figure out most of the basics for developing a game with it. I’m definitely going to take some classes on game development.

Master switches and fork conditions to figure out event flows. If you can grab a ready game, even a demo and look how things are done, that helps a lot!
Don’t worry about scripting until later. ^^
I’d suggest writing your idea down, have the basics clear in your head such as main characters, main conflict, cities and major locations, key events written in detail etc.
