It took…190 something pages but there we go! Mystery girl revealed! All those who thought this was Denny or had similarity to her get a cookie. XD
Now that’s not a mecanism i expected in a muse world. I thought the muse would go un-muse-like and disapear once the owner passed away. New life is supposed to be totally new, with new challenges and new inspirations, so it would have been logical to get a new muse too.
Probably that’s still how it works, and Grumps being a special muse has a special treatment ?

Close call. Grumps is just very stubborn and persistent but there is more to it. ^^;
As for other muses, well, they exist as long as there is physical creation left behind – story, music piece, crafted good, just a written story on a flying paper, etc. – but once that’s gone, the muse is gone for good. Some can be crafty and carry a piece with themselves in order to preserve themselves like Xavier carried the necklace with himself.
In other words, when the owner passes away, the muse does go un-muse. Still, how do fyrians make the difference between un-muses that broke their bond and un-muses that lost their owner ?
They all have the same bag! and they all appear to wear it the same way, as well.

Hmmm in my opinion or thought the very fact that Grumpy has stayed with Denny for multiple lives means something special. If I had to assume so the First of the incarnations of Denny had forged this special bond to begin with.
So because of whatever happened with the first Denny and Grumpy would pose for him staying attached to her for many life times and even so it also depends how many lives Denny has gone by with to forge such a bond with Grumpy….. if I had to take a while guess. The first Denny named Grumpy.
Giving a name to someone or something gives it power after all.
